Six Tips for Effective Stress Management

In technical terms stress is a physical, chemical, or emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension and may be a factor in disease causation or it may be a state of bodily or mental tension, resulting from factors, that tend to alter an existent equilibrium. Stress has become a unavoidable factor in our day to day life and its results and effects on our mind and body are quiet severe. But there are some very simple things which if follow in a regular basis can keep us away from stress and keep us fit, psychologically and physically. Let us have a look at them.

  1. Smile: Smiling relaxes our face muscles and sends signals to the brain and makes us happy. So just don’t wait for something to happen or look for some reason to smile. Practice smiling even it is for fake, but its results are true.
  2. Meditation: Since ages, meditation has been proven, as a very effective way to reduce stress. It keeps our nerves cool and calm and helps us have control over ourselves.
  3. Count on your blessings: Desires are those things that have no end and know no limit. The more you think about those things which you don’t have the more stress you will feel. So instead shift your focus to those things and those blessings which you have. You will feel better and happy.
  4. Activities: Engage yourself in those activities that give you happiness and that give you boost and motivate you. 
  5. Breath right and Sit Straight: Whenever you feel stressed, take slow and deep breaths for at least ten minutes and check your sitting posture, if you not sitting straight, it will result in curved spine and as a result your lungs cannot expand to the full, and they work less than 30% of their capacity. As a result you will feel less energetic and more strain. So make it a habit to sit straight, to keep fit.
  6. Keep good company: keep yourself surrounded by people who are happy, and who keep you happy, because as laughter, happiness is also infectious.
Following these simple, and effective techniques, will help us reduce stress, and lead a happy life.
