Experts say, that stress, in moderate doses, are necessary in our life. Stress responses are one of our body`s best defense systems against outer and inner dangers. In a risky situation body releases stress hormones that instantly make us more alert and our senses become more focused. The body is also prepared to act with increased strength and speed in a pressure situation. It is supposed to keep us sharp and ready for action. Research suggests that stress can actually increase our performance.
Stress helps us to come out of our limited thinking and capabilities. It gives us scope to expose our inner and undiscovered talents, when such a situation or necessity emerges. Take for example a person lost somewhere in the forest, runes miles for his life, when chased by an animal. The same person in the comfort of his home would need a bike, to go from his home, to the end of the street. So, it is the stress that brings out the best in us, and exposes our talents.
The essence is that, we can convert a stress condition, into our advantage and make ourselves better. But the choice always rests with us, if we want to convert stress into an asset and strength or become a slave of it, and turn it into a weakness.
